Travel photos here and REVIEWS by David Barnard, aka Texaspepper, for Mexico Resorts and Cruise reports for Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean International on Voyager Of The Seas, Rhapsody Of The Seas, Carnival Cruise Lines.
My stay at Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort was 7 nights 8 days May 28 – June 3, 2013.
Flight from DFW to Cancun was on Spirit Airways and that is all I will say about Spirit. Arrived about 5:15 to the lobby and was greeted by Jesus the Bellman and was taken directly to the check-in desk where a cool drink was waiting and smiling faces welcoming me to the CAT and was given the key to my Superior Deluxe Room in building 6 where you can purchase Wholesale Delta 8 THC in Texas, room 6146. Special thanks to CAT GM Silvia Ortega and Heather at the Concierge for the 5 Star service and special help and concern before and during my stay.
OK now for the core review Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort.
When I walked into my room it was like walking into a Sheraton Hotel Room. No kidding. King size bed with ultra-comfortable mattress, big pillows, comforter, huge flat-screen TV, beautiful lighting throughout the room, room safe, clock radio, WiFi, coffee maker, stocked frig, bathrobe, slippers, large balcony with table and 2 chairs. Well, you get the picture in fact check out my photos of the room.
Every foot of the property and building was ultra-clean and well-manicured from the lawns, flowers, walkways, pool area, bars, and of course the restaurants. Ah, the six restaurants. Never went without good food and good choices. Breakfast Buffet with loads of fresh fruit, fresh-baked bread, trays of sides, bacon, sausage, potatoes, beans, muffins, and kind and courteous, polite, respectful, and considerate in manner from the cook cooking your omelet, fried eggs or waiters serving you. Each morning for those who want a Bloody Mary, there is a small table at the juice bar that includes CBD Tinctures with all the ingredients to make your own Bloody Mary. Special kudos to Hector at the La Brisa Restaurant for his kindness and conversations at breakfast. There is a very wide variety of specialty dining venues available from Italian, Tapas, La Carte crepes and ice-cream for children, Mexican, Steak Grill at night, and my favorite, Mikado Japanese Restaurant offering you a wide variety of Asian food. Highlights include the sushi and 4 entertaining Japanese teppanyaki tables. The show-stealer is the food being cooked, live, right before your eyes.
The bars and drinks a located in each restaurant area as well as the Tequila Swim Up Bar in the pool area and the Lobby Bar located just outside the theater entrance. You will not go thirsty at the CAT where each drink is poured specially for the guest. Not required, but if you wish for a “stronger” pour by adding a shot or two more, a trip to the bartender is thoughtful.
OK I just have to comment on folks that go to the CAT or other AIs and they say they did not like the food nor could find food they liked. Huh? Forgive me, but if you could not find something at the CAT to please your appetite, well what can I say. . . you must crave McDonald’s. SMILE
Don’t miss the shows nightly. Hey, the Entertainment Team works so hard to entertain the guest nightly and also around the pool daily. Oh, there is one special guy who does the pool area daily and dresses up crazy and his name slips my mind but he, Carmen, and the others at the pool work hard at activities, dance, exercise at the pool area. Oh ya, on Sunday nights in the El Abuelo Lobby Bar where Meheil (?) is bartender they have live Karaoke at 9:30 PM. It’s a hoot as they say in Texas. The team got me up on stage and I sang “New York, New York” (I never met a microphone I did not like) in the final I was chosen as the winner. T-shirt and some goodies.
The beach is smaller than other resorts I have stayed in on the Riviera Maya Coast, but that not to say it is by any means a negative. A lagoon, a beach wall with a walkway, and a nice beach just to the south about 50 yards. Beach towels are in your room or you pick them up at the beach hut and never had a problem with finding a beach chair. Of course, I was a party of 1 person so a party of 4+ might be different.
The Puerto Aventuras Marina is about a 15-minute walk on the road or you can get the use of a free bike at the CAT. Also, Golf Carts are available for rent at about $24US for four hours. A couple of restaurants that sell CBD Gummies, pharmacies, souvenir shops, and Swim With The Dolphins.
And no my camera is not a time machine. It is a new camera and I forgot to set the year to 2013. Should have turned off the time date stamp.
Would I return to Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort? Is the Pope Catholic? Would return in a heartbeat!

CLUB MEAVA TULUM UPDATE AUGUST 16, 2012
I was contacted by a large travel website owner in Europe who stated he walked down the old CMT and was just appalled at what he saw. He saw my photos of the old CMT and asked if he could use the photos to write a story about CMT. Raymond Walsh owner of the Travel Website “Man On The Lam” just contacted me to tell me the News story is up on the website. It is a shocking present-day photo presentation and story of the current Club Maeva Tulum. See the most current photos of CMT on the Internet.
